Fermoy has won the prestigious Best in Show at the 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) for the Fermoy 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. “We’re in Cabernet country, it’s our raison d'être, the pinnacle of what we do. To win an award for Cabernet is exceptionally gratifying,” said Senior Winemaker Jeremy Hodgson on receiving the news.
“It’s the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, and to have our Reserve Cabernet recognised as the very best is not only a win for Fermoy, but it shines the light once again on Margaret River being a consistently world-class producer of Cabernet Sauvignon,” said Hodgson.

Fermoy Estate is a long-established winery in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River, Western Australia. In the pursuit of quality, Fermoy has gained a reputation for growing and crafting world-class wines that express their small patch of land. It enjoys a relatively low profile, notwithstanding its exceptional wines.
The winery is located right next door to the vineyard, so the grapes can be processed without delay, ensuring their premium qualities are retained. Their head winemaker, Jeremy Hodgson, employs a balance of tradition and innovation, employing age-old techniques supported by modern advances, all of which culminate to highlight the distinctive south-western climate.

Visitors are warmly welcomed by the friendly and knowledgeable team at Fermoy’s beautiful cellar door. Explore your way through a selection of current release wines with a casual seated wine tasting experience.  Same day walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability. Dogs are welcome outside and there’s plenty of space for the kids to chill.

We visited Fermoy as part of our wine tour with Waves of Wine (highly recommended) and we loved it! Silvi was an absolute delight. The way she described the wines made us love them before we’d even tried them. There’s not many wineries that we visit where we love so many different varieties. We loved it so much, we joined their wine club and got our first 6 bottles posted home (free postage). Not only is this great because we are in a caravan but it also means we have something to look forward to when we get home. If we’d taken them with us, they definitely wouldn’t have lasted long 😂

Very chatty and experienced lady to introduce the wine. Love the princess red that is smooth but cost pricier at $55.

The wines here are fine. I don’t think exceptional but fine. The staff were friendly and helpful but were a little disconnected from us with a lengthy sales pitch. I was a little flummoxed at the prices of the wines. Looking for a softer out, I paid the $20 for the two of us for 5 of the smallest thimbles
