On Tuesday 1st June, 2010, mooSES roamed her orange hide and boot-strapped hooves all over the region with her most moooving and adventurous journey yet - mooSES Extraordinary Taxi Ride.

Stop 1: Margaret River Hotel
Brahman the Barman is the region’s resident bovine and he knows how to pull the best pint. mooSES doesn’t drink in uniform so she enjoyed some breakfast at Brahman’s bar.

Stop 2: Colonial Brewery
Colonial is home to superb, award-winning ales and four of the moovelous CowParade Margaret River herd! Mudders Milk is perched on kegs and has plenty to keep her company inside. Naughty Icarus, Moo Moo Retro Couch and The Cow of Many Colours were more than happy to chew on some of their lush lawns with mooSES.

Stop 3: Adinfern
Eco Rave Cow has been the top ranked SMS voted cow for weeks now so mooSES had to see what all the fuss was about on this leg of the Extraordinary Taxi Ride. Although her flashing solar hat wasn’t visible during the day this sparkly beast is very impressive! mooSES thrived on trying to steal some of her limelight with the local press taking some photos.

Stop 4: Cowaramup
‘Cow Town’ features three grazing cows, in fact, one of them is even attempting to fly! Belle and Maggie May seem to be holding up just fine with their diet of candy and the other gourmet delights of Cowaramup.

Stop 5: Brookwood Estate
Sunrise was painted live on television by Ken Done and Natalie Barr. Things are much more relaxed without all of those cameras and mooSES joined his fibre-glass friend to admire the view across the vineyards.

Stop 6: Tassell Park Wines
Cow Patch is living the dream. Not only does she enjoy a constant supply of grass, but there is also a hay bale for her to chew on. Sunrise also offered mooSES some hay so she boarded the taxi with all four stomachs working overtime!

Stop 7: Cattle Crossing
The Margaret River Wine Region has a rich dairy heritage and there is an abundance of Friesians dotting the picturesque landscape. mooSES joined some of her more ‘fleshy’ cousins with a stroll across the Cattle Crossing at a local farm and a ‘moo’ across the fence. Surprisingly (or not?) they were quite bewildered at their mini orange relation!

Stop 8: The Grove Vineyard
Tipple enjoyed a tipple, of course, while mooSES enjoyed a water because she does not drink in uniform!

Stop 9: Evans and Tate
The queen of metallic finishes and peep holes, Wholey Cow, hosted mooSES for some fun and games. mooSES had a blast looking through the holes that cover this bovine!

Stop 10: Moss Brothers
Bumping into a wine tour tempted mooSES while catching up with Karta Warra. Her splendid waugal and Indigenous Dream-time coat is looking as stunning as ever.

Stop 11: Lake Cave
This ancient underground wonderland of dazzling, limestone hosts a most unique resident. mooSES wasn’t quite agile enough to descend the steps into the splendid Lake Cave doline, but she could still see her friend ‘The Dark Cow’ suspended above the cave entrance.

Stop 12: Boranup Forest
mooSES took time out along Caves Road to admire the majestic Boranup Forest. These tall karri trees were the perfect setting for a very brief hike, or ‘roam’, through the woods. The pictures are stunning.

Stop 13: Blackwood Avenue, Augusta
On the way to Augusta mooSES spotted an emu taking a leisurely walk across Caves Road – this feathered friend was nothing compared to the awe-inspiring Professor Bovinicus.

Stop 14: Flinders Bay, Augusta
Flinders Bay has recently welcomed the return of the Southern Right and Humpback Whales. mooSES thought it would be fitting to try and spot some whales and even took a quick dip in the beautiful blue water!

Stop 15: Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Next stop was a visit to Moorine Marauder at mainland Australia’s tallest lighthouse. Decked out in full pirate gear, Moorine, has enjoyed looking through her binoculars out to see where two oceans meet to make sure there are no ships in distress.

Stop 16: Witchcliffe
The Extraordinary Taxi Ride almost drove straight past this spotted creature! Herd but not Seen blends in so well with her surroundings that mooSES thought she best stand in front of this camouflaged bovine to spoil her disguise on Bussell Highway. An orange mini moo is bound to attract attention!

Stop 17: Watershed Wines.
The Wine Maker has had a hectic past few months working with the Watershed team to bottle the 2010 vintage. mooSES couldn’t resist having a hoof-full of grapes!

Stop 18: Curtin University Margaret River Campus.
mooSES had been waiting to be reunited with her four other mini moos ALL DAY! The Extraordinary Taxi Ride team left this til the last stop. After gazing through the window at her miniature counterparts mooSES finally joined her crew inside the reception.

The Extraordinary Taxi Ride ‘mooSES-style’ was a splendid showcase of the diverse and Extraordinary experiences on offer in the Margaret River region.

Lester George from Margaret River Taxis was the ideal driver for mooSES Extraordinary adventure.

After experiencing the Extraordinary Margaret River region and learning that the CowParade herd are in great spirits before finding new homes at the Cow Charity Auction, mooSES can now rest easy after a job well done.
